Last night I attended a cupcake decorating workshop arranged by The Crafter's Market and Creative Kat.
I have always wanted to learn how to decorate cupcakes and get my hands on a piping bag! I had a lovely night as it was a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We were shown how to make sugar paste flowers which was a bit tricky in the heat - my rose started out quite well but dried out very quickly and decided to flop. Definitely something to practice now I have been shown how to do them (mental note next time I try I will pick somewhere nice and cool to work). We then moved onto fondant embossing and buttercream piping which I loved and will definitely experiment more with. There's just something wonderful about sprinkles and as you can see from my photo I wasn't shy with them. I brought the 6 cupcakes home in a gift box and must confess to scoffing one of the chocolate ones for breakfast, it was yummy! Not sure the other 5 will survive the day!
