We arrived mid morning and dropped our bags at our hotel in trendy Vesterbro. I had picked the hotel based on the hygge factor and certainly wasn’t disappointed! We had a gorgeous four-poster bed in our room and there were candles, cosy throws and cuddle seats galore
We had arranged to meet friends in Christiania so decided to find our way there on foot and take in the sights and get our bearings. Freetown Christiania is a fascinating place with cafes, street art and interesting characters! Photography is banned in certain areas of Christiania especially the infamous ‘Pusher Street’ so you will just have to take my word for it being worth a trip! Next we headed to Paper island for street food and great view across to Nyhavn Harbour and the Opera House
After a yummy breakfast we headed to the Design Museum. It was chair heaven! The Danish truly are the masters of design. Next was a Canal tour from Nyhavn, we didn’t quite escape the rain but the sights were beautiful especially the coloured buildings in the harbour. Then we decided to do more sightseeing, this time from the top of the Round Tower. We ended the day with pizza and cocktails, perfect!
We saved an evening trip to Tivoli gardens for today as it was our wedding anniversary. The twinkly lights and fairytale feel made it an ideal place for a special occasion. We had a blast on the rides especially the Star Flyer. Although slightly terrifying at 80 metres high!
Earlier in the day we had wandered around the shopping area and through the gardens at the Rosenborg Slot
Before heading to the airport we had a walk around Frederiksberg Park and a tour of the Carlsberg museum. It was a wonderful and busy few days and we will certainly be back for more scandi adventures!

I visited the Now Gallery in London this week. I'd seen the WALALA X PLAY maze on Instagram and know I had to see it in person! I certainly wasn't disappointed
Last week I attended a needle felting workshop at Bluebell Studio with SJ's Fluff 'n' Stuff and I'm so glad I did! It was great to escape the computer and learn a new craft (this one is seriously good for stress relief). Sarah Jane taught us how to make a shaggy sheep from scratch...
& here's the finished article!
Here we are hard at work! Image credit - SJ's Fluff 'n' Stuff
I can't wait to try more needle felting and more workshops at Bluebell Studio
I took my hubby to Madrid to celebrate his 40th birthday. We wanted a short city break and decided to pick somewhere neither of us had been before. I'm pretty sure the lure of tapas and sangria helped us choose Madrid
Its a great city and so easy to explore. A highlight was seeing Picasso's Guernica at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. I'd wrote an essay on the painting whilst at university so it was great to see it in real life. Madrid has lots of art galleries but this was my favourite gallery as I love modern art
We also enjoyed a walk around the Retiro Park and Crystal Palace. I defiantly had a disney princess moment as I first saw the palace
We also went rowing in the Estanque in the park. I have an obsession with rowing and many of my loved ones have been roped into a rowing session whatever the weather! But this was the first time we have been rowing outside the UK (and the sunshine was a bonus)
We stopped for a cocktail with a view on the roof terrace of the Circle de Bellas Artes. We could of stayed here for hours with the sunshine, cocktails and day beds
The Royal Palace is packed full with flamboyantly decorated rooms, armouries & jewels. The chandeliers alone were worth the entrance queue (although I recommend getting there early)
We stumbled across the Mercado de San Miguel on the first day. Theres a great atmosphere at this market and huge variety of tapas stalls. We loved it so much we returned for more the next day!
I love visiting Cathedrals & Basilicas and the Basilica de San Francisco El Grande certainly didn't disappoint. Its dome is the largest in Spain and fourth largest in the world
How cool is this vertical garden... I loved stumbling across sights like this in the this wonderful city
We ended the trip with a soak at the Hammam Al Andalus Arabic Baths. This was pure bliss and a wonderful way to relax after days of exploring, We pre booked this before travelling to Madrid and I would encourage others to do the same as its very popular
I had a stall at The Fairy Tale Fair in Worthing last month. I've been following them on Instagram and been to one of their previous fairs in Brighton, so its safe to say I am a fan!
There was a lovely atmosphere on the day and so many great stalls and yummy cakes... I could of spent a fortune!
Here are some photos of my stall taken by Ed Watts Photography
This was the perfect time to visit Nymans with the trees in beautiful blossom. I love Magnolia and Cherry Blossom...
How magical is this tree! I almost expected to see Fairies
We also explored the house and I fell in love with this little out building...
Nymans has a special place in my heart as I went to a wedding here weeks before my own. It was a beautiful sunny day on that day too. Aww happy memories, this is the stunning location they said 'I do'...
Nymans Gardens is in Handcross, West Sussex and is a National Trust property
