I have been super busy designing lots of new items for my range and I think these are my favourite so far! I have designed a set of 12 circus inspired cards which can be used to help record your baby's first year. They are the perfect size to use as props in photographs (5" x 7"). Let your imagination go wild! The cards are now available in my shop, Etsy & Folksy There is space on the back to write the date the milestone happened. The photo below shows the back of the 'Today I said my First Word' card which also has space to write the first word I'd love to see your photos so please #faysieboostudio photos you post on your social media or email them to faye@faysieboostudio.co.uk if you are happy for me to show the photos on my social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest)

I was lucky enough to attend a day long watercolour workshop at the beautiful Makelight Studio last weekend. It was a horrible rainy day and being in Emily's studio was exactly the right tonic! The studio is dressed beautifully with tea cups, ceramics, vintage luggage cases, prints and fresh flowers galore. It certainly showed me that I need to work on my studio space (I feel a Pinterest board coming on) The workshop was run by the very talented Emma Block Illustration. Emma gave us a great introduction to colour theory, mixing and watercolour techniques. We then practiced our 'new skills' and spent the afternoon painting some beautiful fresh flowers and a red velvet cake (before we scoffed it) A highlight of the day was watching Emma demonstrate how she paints live portraits. I have always found drawing people tricky so have definitely picked up some tips and tricks I found the day so relaxing and it was lovely to have a paintbrush in my hand! Life can be so busy I don't get chance to paint anywhere near enough. But I made it a new year's resolution to paint more and I vow to keep practicing I now have so many ideas for hand painted cards, prints and wedding stationery... Faysie Boo Studio, Emma Block Illustration & Makelight Workshops are all on Instagram I need to confess... I love Pinterest! I've always prioritised Instagram for my business but am now seeing how great Pinterest is too. It's a great way to find inspiration, follow some talented people and discover some great community boards
